New York-grade legal work,
without New York rates.

HKR.TEAM partners with Lexters, a Bucharest-based law firm led by New York Bar-admitted, Columbia Law-trained lawyers. U.S.-law contract and corporate work, delivered at a structurally lower cost.

The Problem

You’re past formation.

Contracts land on your desk every week. Customer MSAs, vendor agreements, NDAs, procurement terms. Each one needs a real lawyer.

BigLaw handles this well.

But at $600 to $2,000 an hour, you’re paying IPO rates for a vendor agreement that needs to be done by Thursday.

AI tools are fast and cheap.

But when a clause goes wrong, there’s nobody accountable. No one to call. No one who carries malpractice insurance.

Our Solution

Most founders end up stuck between overpaying for routine work and taking risks they shouldn’t be taking. There’s a better option. And it starts with a conversation.

FAQ

How is this different from hiring a BigLaw firm?

BigLaw firms are built for high-stakes, high-complexity moments: IPOs, major M&A, bet-the-company litigation. They’re excellent at that work, and they price accordingly. But for the contracts that land on your desk every week (customer MSAs, vendor terms, NDAs), you’re paying for overhead you don’t need. Lexters gives you lawyers with the same training and bar admission, operating as a more agile team from Bucharest. Same standards, different economics.

Are Lexters lawyers actually admitted to the New York Bar?

Yes. Both Alexandru Stănescu and Tudor Velea are admitted to the New York Bar and trained at Columbia Law School. Alexandru holds an LL.M. from Columbia; Tudor holds a JD. Both are ranked by Chambers and Partners for FinTech Legal 2026.

What types of legal work can Lexter handle?

The core of what most founders use Lexters for is contract work: B2B customer agreements, vendor and procurement contracts, NDAs, DPAs, employment agreements, and redlines with the other side’s counsel. When bigger needs come up (corporate structuring, ESOPs, fundraise support, M&A), Lexters handles those too.

What's HKR.TEAM's role in this?
